Do’s and Don'ts of finding a Helper
Five things to think about when selecting a Helper:
- Don’t think any task is too big or too small. Do consider the variety of tasks that you’d like help with and ask for the support you need.
- Don’t fear that getting help is too expensive. Do understand your financial reality and choose a Helper that fits your budget.
- Don’t be shy about background checks or interviews. Do take comfort in the fact that all Manana Helpers are carefully vetted ahead of time.
- Don’t feel like you need to make the decision alone. Do loop in family or friends as needed for interviews or to make sure you feel comfortable with the Helper you’ve selected.
- Don’t be paralyzed by indecision. Do acknowledge that most older adults will need help to some extent and embrace the process of building a support system that includes family, friends, and caregivers that fit your needs.

Helpful Tip
Manana Helper background checks are processed by Checkr, a third-party background check provider. Manana requires this in order to keep customers safe and we will routinely perform background checks on active Helpers. Additional screenings may include motor vehicle reports, employment verifications, or federal, state and country criminal checks.

When booking, you will have access to the Helper’s bio and reviews. You can message or request a phone call with any Helper to ensure you are completely comfortable before the initial booking.

If you don’t feel comfortable with your Helper, want help with something else, or simply want to try a new Helper, you can request a new Helper next time. If your Helper doesn’t meet expectations for any reason, please contact us immediately, and we’ll help you resolve your concern or find someone new.
